Take it to EB3 Motorsports in Manassas/Gainsville... they'll tune it.

It's the "BIG" lift/duration cams that give fits... You will be fine with like a Ford Motorsport B-303 and a computer chip. The term "Dumb up the computer" is taking away the more advanced features that the 94-95 cars have. They are smarter than the 93 and earlier computers, which hinders "BIG" performance additions, like very radical camshafts... by tweaking the computer, and taking away some of the "adaptive leaning" (or "Dumb it up") like an A9L for example, is the way around the smarter 94-95 computers.

Just wanted to know if you can put the A9L computer into a 94-95 car because i have one laying around from one of my fox body cars? my car has a z303 cam in it, edlebrock 2.02 heads, 347 stroker, holley system max intake, full length headers, and 3" exhaust.

I believe you'd need to swap out more than just the A9L processor... the wiring harness would most likely need to be altered as the newer models have anti-theft programing, etc.... I've heard of 94/95 owners swapping '93 computers, but I think they are doing more than just the typical five minute computer swap... they are probably changing over to a '93 harness as well.

The best route for the serious 94/95 guys is the Anderson Motorsports PCM unit. It is quite expensive at around $900, but you can manage and tune your computer on the fly, and will never worry with burning chips or tuning issues ever again.

no the a9l without doing mods the harness. I would look into the Moats system or the mega squirt they are very good price units and very strong for tuning.

I just heard that Pro-M makes a short harness for the 94/95 cars that makes the A9L compatible, without a re-pin...???

I remember when those A9L processors were everywhere... you could find them on eBay 10-15 years ago for $50, then they shot up in price. But now Late-Model Resto has them for $150. That isn't bad at all I guess.

I was thinking about buying the Anderson Ford PMS system for my '94, but now I might just check into swapping a pre- '93 processor.

I know they use to make it a good many years back but it was $$$ and I seen where they stopped making it with all the A/M tuning stuff out I guess they just figured most would move up to that. But after coming back from Bankruptcy 2 times that  maybe why they stopped. But maybe they are making it again I dont know. I would still be looking into the Moats stuff or the Megasquirt just so much better tuning abilities hell even SCT has some stuff out for them now. Just like the stuff for the Cobra I am messing with. But that is just me.

I've read before that one can use a ECM from an automatic car in a 5 speed saying that because the shift points are diff it will aid in the fuel settings when building a larger engine. True? Not true? Just something I read and thought would pass on.
